Bro. Burman Cape, Jr. was born April 12, 1946 in Dalton, Georgia to Bro. Burman, Sr. and Evelyn Cape. He was saved on June 6, 1957 at the age of 11 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church during revival being conducted by Evangelist Ed Ballew. He married Carol Ann Oliver of East Ridge, Tennessee on November 4, 1965. They have one daughter, Carrie, and have three granddaughters, Peyton, CiCi, and Katlin. Bro. Burman surrendered to the call of God to preach the gospel on Febuary 19, 1967 in the Men's Prayer Room of Bible Baptist Church where his father was the pastor and preached his first sermon that same night. He attended Hyles-Anderson College and Liberty Home Bible Institute. He began his first pastorate the first Sunday of June 1967. His pastorates include Ridge Crest Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia where he served for five and one half years; Bethel Baptist Church in Gary, Indiana for one year; James Street Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia where he served for three years; Ashland Terrace Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee for 8 and one half years; and Floyd Road Baptist Church in Austell, Georgia where he has currently serves as Pastor.
We at FRBC are honored and privileged to have Bro. Burman as our Pastor. He respects and honors the pulpit as Holy Ground and never fails to preach anything beyond the truth of God's Holy Word. He is always sensitive to the calling of the Holy Spirit and preaches just as the Lord instructs. We are truly blessed that God sent us His servant with a Shepard's heart to be our Pastor. |
A Message From the Pastor I would like to personally invite you to visit with us at Floyd Road Baptist Church. I believe you will find a warm friendly welcome from our church family and a spirit of worship from God’s presence. We are a church dedicated to the old fashioned, conservative principles of family and worship. We seek to honor God in our worship services through straight forward Biblical preaching that relates Bible solutions to human needs. We also worship in song through a variety of Southern Gospel and traditional hymns that are sung from the heart and with a spirit of praise. We would be delighted for you and your family to visit with us on the next Lord’s Day. |
